About Hope House

This is a home filled with life and growth:
A place of nurturing and caring,
A place where hope flourishes
Because Love never fails

Hope House is an orphanage in the Free State, South Africa. It was established in 2004, and cares for up to 30 children at a time.

According to Unicef, there are currently 1.2 million orphans in South Africa. Many are looked after by family and friends, but all too many are cruelly abandoned. We recently received two babies: One was only a day old when found abandoned at the local refuse dump-site. The other weighed a mere 2kg after a month of living.

We are confident that these precious little people will one-day make a significant contribution to humanity. This is not a random "hope for the best" confidence. It is based on a track-record of care and nurturing for hundreds of similar children who are growing up to be extraordinary human beings.

Love never fails, but it cannot fill the stomach of a hungry child. It takes more than mere rhetoric to change these children's lives, it takes a tapestry of years of love, care and prayer embroidered into a resource fabric. That's where you can help.

Care enough to help. Your change can make a change.
